About Me

I retired at 43 with 35+ rental properties and a stock portfolio I've never touched. Now I travel, stay active, and share what I've learned.

The Short Version

I spent 20+ years in tech, building a career while simultaneously building a rental property portfolio on the side. The strategy was simple: use my paycheck to buy cash-flowing assets.

By 43, my rental income exceeded my expenses. My stock portfolio—built through consistent index fund investing—remains untouched, compounding for the future. Real estate pays the bills; stocks build long-term wealth.

Since retiring, I've traveled to 30+ countries, attended playoff games and championships, prioritized health and fitness, and spent quality time with family. I started this site to share the systems and strategies that made it possible.

The Journey

Early Education

Son of two first-generation immigrants. Attended public inner-city schools, then a top computer science program at a low-cost state university.

Early Career

Started in tech with little knowledge of investing and personal finance.

Late 20s

Began maxing out retirement accounts and bought first two rental properties while working full-time. Unfortunately, got caught in the Great Recession, and both properties went deeply underwater.

30s

Held properties through the downturn. Increased income significantly and invested heavily in growth and tech stocks. Scaled to 35+ rental units across multiple states.

Early 40's

Attained VP role at a Fortune 500 and Retired when rental income exceeded expenses by 1.5x.

Now

Traveling, staying fit, and helping others design their own path to financial independence.

What I Believe

The principles that guide my approach to money and life.

Assets Over Income

Build things that generate money while you sleep.

Systems Over Hacks

Consistent habits beat one-time optimizations.

Life Over Numbers

Money is a tool for living, not the goal itself.

Freedom Over Status

Time and options matter more than fancy things.

Why Boba Financial?

"Boba" represents the lifestyle side of this journey—the small joys, the travel, the good food. Financial independence isn't just about spreadsheets and returns. It's about building a life that's both financially secure AND genuinely enjoyable.

My mission is to show a realistic, asset-based path to financial independence. No hype, no get-rich-quick schemes. Just systems, discipline, and the proof that it actually works.
